Last updated June 2026. These policies govern your use of this website and our recruitment services.

These terms govern your use of this website, operated by Acuma. They do not form part of any client or candidate engagement, which is covered by a separate written agreement.

1. About these terms

These terms of use govern your access to and use of this website. By using the site you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use the site. We may update these terms from time to time, and continued use constitutes acceptance of any changes.

2. Use of this website

You may use this website for lawful purposes only. You must not misuse it by knowingly introducing malicious code, attempting unauthorised access, or using it in any way that breaches applicable law. We may suspend, withdraw or restrict the site, or any part of it, without notice.

3. Intellectual property

All content on this website — including text, design, logos, graphics and imagery — is owned by or licensed to Acuma and is protected by intellectual property laws. You may not reproduce, distribute or exploit any content without our prior written consent.

4. No warranties

This website is provided on an “as is” basis. While we take care to keep the information accurate and up to date, we make no representations or warranties of any kind about its completeness, accuracy or availability. Acuma is the data controller for personal data processed through this website and our recruitment services. This policy is provided in line with the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018.

1. Data we collect

We collect information you provide directly — such as your name, contact details, CV, employment history and the contents of your enquiries — as well as limited technical data (such as IP address and browser type) when you use this website. For clients, we process business contact details and information relevant to a search.

2. How and why we use it

We use personal data to provide recruitment and search services, respond to enquiries, match candidates to roles, and meet our legal obligations. Our lawful bases are:

  • Legitimate interests — to operate our recruitment business and contact relevant candidates and clients.
  • Consent — where you have asked us to represent you or contact you about opportunities.
  • Legal obligation — to comply with employment, tax and regulatory requirements.

3. Sharing your data

We share candidate information with client organisations only with your knowledge in the context of a relevant role. We may also use trusted service providers (such as IT and email providers) who process data on our behalf under appropriate contracts. We do not sell personal data.

4. International transfers

As we operate across the US, EMEA and APAC, your data may be transferred outside the UK. Where it is, we put appropriate safeguards in place (such as the UK International Data Transfer Agreement or equivalent) to protect it.

5. Retention

We keep personal data only as long as necessary for the purposes above — typically for the duration of our relationship and a reasonable period afterwards — unless a longer period is required by law. You can ask us to delete your data at any time.

6. Your rights

Under UK data protection law you have the right to access, correct, delete or restrict the processing of your personal data, to object to processing, and to data portability. To exercise any of these, contact us using the details below. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk.

7. Cookies

This website uses only essential cookies required for it to function. If we introduce analytics or marketing cookies in future, we will ask for your consent first.

8. Contact

For any privacy question or to exercise your rights, contact info@acumagroup.com.
